Post election come along and listen to Kiwibank’s views on where Interest Rates and Foreign Exchange Rates are headed.

Mary Jo Vergara will give a presentation on the economy post-election, with Hamish Wilkinson providing his views on the current factors affecting the Foreign Exchange market and how, if you are importing or exporting, you can mitigate the risk.

Following on from the presentations by our Kiwibank experts, there will be the opportunity for a Q&A session on all things Economic and FX.

Mary Jo joined the Kiwibank economics team in 2019, and is responsible for producing economic forecasts and regular economic commentary. Mary Jo has a keen interest in how the Kiwi economy fits within the global landscape. Her areas of interest include most things macroeconomics and financial markets. Prior to joining Kiwibank, Mary Jo worked in economic consulting as a research analyst following five years of university study. Mary Jo holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Auckland.

Hamish is a Senior Dealer within the Kiwibank Financial Markets team assisting Commercial, Corporate and Institutional clients managing their FX and Interest Rate exposures. Hamish has over 20 years of financial markets experience, having worked globally in locations such as Sydney, London, and Europe across FX and IR Sales, treasury risk management and fixed income trading fields from brokerage to tier 1 investment banking houses.
