Future of Western Bay & Tauranga City Water Services
Monday, 7 April 2025 (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (NZST)
Description
Delivering safe, reliable, and affordable water services is essential for our businesses, households, and environment.
Right now, councils across the country are required to review how they deliver water services and put a Water Services Delivery Plan in place by 3 September 2025. This is in answer to the Government’s Local Water Done Well policy to ensure that drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater services remain financially sustainable, high-quality, and fit for the future.
Tauranga City Council and Western Bay of Plenty District Council are working on their respective plans and are pleased to invite you to a community discussion about what this means for our residents.
This is an important conversation to have your say on. Your feedback helps ensure that the future of water services reflects what matters most to our community.
Mayors Mahé Drysdale and James Denyer will be on hand to talk you through this
Mayor Mahé Drysdale and Mayor James Denyer will explain what councils have done so far, discuss the preferred approach, and answer your questions about what this means for our community.
This session will focus on the following key areas:
