About

The Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was founded and began life-saving missions in the coastal Bay of Plenty in 2000.

Powered by a team of Pilots, Crewmen and Critical Care Flight Paramedics, the rescue helicopter can be airborne within 10 minutes during the day (or 20 minutes at night) to deliver rescue personnel to patients in need, with the ability to provide life-saving in-flight care along the way. An experienced, professional fulltime crew offer a diverse range of attributes and experience to each mission. The crew of the rescue helicopter are among the most highly trained in New Zealand. When the rescue helicopter is tasked to a mission it’s because it is the very best, and in many cases, the only option.

The rescue helicopter service is partially funded by a government contract, which means we rely heavily on the generosity of sponsors and the community to help fund this life-saving service. Our responsibility is to ensure the rescue helicopters have the funding they need to remain rescue ready 24/7, 365 days of the year.
